Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
